How I Work
Sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and tailored to what you need that day. I blend several trauma-informed approaches so we can work with both your mind and your body at a pace that feels safe for you.
You might notice we check in with your body—your breath, your muscles, your posture—as much as your thoughts. We might use movement, tapping, or grounding exercises to help your nervous system feel safer while we process hard things.
Some sessions are deep and emotional. Others are about problem-solving, parenting strategies, or just having one hour where you don’t have to hold everything together. All of it counts.
Modalities I draw from
- EMDR – to process traumatic or overwhelming experiences
- Somatic Therapy – noticing how stress and memory live in the body
- Internal Family Systems / Parts Work – exploring the different “parts” of you
- Attachment-based & Family Systems – focusing on relationships and connection
- Playful, creative approaches – especially with kids & teens
We’ll always talk about what we’re doing and why, and you’re encouraged to say what is or isn’t working for you.
Therapy has a rhythm—predictable, yet flexible.
Arrival & check-in
We orient to the present moment, notice how your body is feeling, and name the focus for our time.
Work phase
Depending on your goals, this might look like EMDR reprocessing, parts work dialogue, parenting coaching, or nervous-system exercises.
Integration
We reflect, practice a regulating skill, and outline any experiments or supports to try between sessions.
We’ll choose the right modality for the moment.
Sessions often weave together creativity and science. Together we’ll decide when to lean into somatic work, storytelling, play, resourcing exercises, or concrete skill-building.
Regulation practices
Breathwork, bilateral movement, sensory modulation, and grounding strategies you can use in daily life.
Integrative EMDR
Adapting EMDR protocols for kids, teens, and adults while honoring pacing, cultural identity, and consent.
Parts & attachment work
Exploring inner narratives, strengthening secure attachment, and building compassion for every “part” of you.
